Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum has named his second son, Hamdan, as Crown Prince, the person designated to succeed him to the throne. The country has been without a crown prince since the current leader came to power in 2006.25-year-old Hamdan is already the head of Dubai's Executive Council, which runs the country's political and financial affairs. Hamdan is a graduate of Britain's elite Sandhurst military academy and studied at the London School of Economics. He's described as a "keen horseman" and also writes poetry.
